Mahela Jayawardene has been appointed captain of the new IPL franchise – Kochi.
The 33-year-old former Sri Lankan captain was purchased by the Team Kochi for a whopping $1.5 million at the player auction last month. Until last year for the previous 3 seasons of Indian Premier League, he was part of the Kings XI Punjab franchise.
Other players to watch out for in the Kochi Team include Muttiah Muralitharan, Brad Hodge, Brendon McCullum, Owais Shah, Steven Smith and VVS Laxman, among others.
